Android database app in Material Design – use innovative UI to manage your databases.

Ekaterina Nebogina

With the release of Android 5.0, Google introduced a new UI style that they called Material Design. It is supposed to be a new standard for Android apps with a brighter and more laconic design.

Perpetuum is following the latest trends and publishes a new version of its Android database tool that completely addresses Material Design guidelines. With the restyled user interface MobiDB Database Designer became even more convenient and intuitive and makes it easy to design and manage databases.

“We know that Android users are fond of this new design and many of them migrated to Android 5.0 and prefer using the Lollipop-styled apps. We want to make their user experience seamless and not to get them back to the relic of the past with the old-fashioned UI,” says Vitaly Korney, Team Lead at Perpetuum Software.

Availability of different themes including light and dark styles will allow users to adjust the app to their requirements and preferences.

Though complete restyling of MobiDB was quite an intricate task the team also added some new features. The most noticeable is a significantly improved Location control that now not only shows entered coordinates but can also show the location on map. If users want to add a new location they just need to long tap on a map and a new entry will be added to the database. Users can also view all database entries on the map by switching to the map view and proceed to any database entry by clicking on the necessary marker. Now MobiDB is a good fit for real estate agents, property managers and couriers.
