Perpetuum Software announces the availability of a new version of the free UI controls set for Windows 8, Perpetuum UI Controls for Windows 8. This set of Windows Design controls is designed for data input and layout.
The version 2.0 adds new XAML-based WinRT controls to make development of Windows Store applications even faster and resource saving. New UI controls include Accordion, Breadcrumb, Tree view, Range slider, Tab control and Layout transformer.
One of the most noticeable controls is TreeView. It represents hierarchical data as laconic and habitual tree control with nodes. Support for HierarchicalDataTemplate makes it possible to create templates for hierarchical structures. It is extremely useful when developers need to show document headings, files and directories or any other hierarchic data.
Some existing UI components such as Radial menu and Plane menu were completely re-designed: XAML code was optimized, controls appearance re-styled to make work with them easier and more convenient.
The package includes updated demo application providing working samples of all UI controls accompanied with source code, description and syntax samples.
Minor bug fixes optimize the process of integration of WinRT XAML controls into Windows 8 applications and make the product more stable and reliable.
Standard Edition of Perpetuum UI Controls for Windows 8 is available absolutely free of charge and can be used in all types of applications: free and commercial.
