The fact that Microsoft is the monopolist of the software market is incontrovertible. But no one is perfect…Microsoft has two powerful technologies: MS SQL Reporting Services that is the world recognized industry standard of report generators, and the Silverlight, a relatively new, but extremely promising technology for BI, that acquires hundreds of fans literally with every breath we make.
Silverlight promises to be the № 1 platform for BI applications creation due to the fact that it not only combines all the best of desktop applications and the convenience of web apps deployment, but delivers absolutely new developer and user experience.
So, now, let’s make a string of logic: Reporting is essential part of BI apps – MS Reporting Services is industry standard reporting tool – Silverlight is the positively inevitable future of BI apps.
Alliance of these two technologies obviously makes sense, doesn’t it?
