MobiDB Database Designer, a general-purpose relational database app, is used by our customer to keep and track down complicated volleyball league statictics.
Customer bio
I’m a Business Manager in Puebla, with a degree in Agronomic Industry, and I offer my time to a nonprofit organization, which is Municipal League of Volleyball in Tehuacán Puebla.
The Municipal League of Volleyball in Tehuacán Puebla has been recently restructured in a 6 years plan and begun 3 years ago, going from 6 teams in total to 46 in 3 different classifications which are Male, Female and Mixed teams, having 1st and 2nd divisions in both male and female branches. And we are eager to open a third division for younger players who are inciting in the art of volleyball.
Challenge/situation
We are developing a statistical DB to keep track of the games, scores, points won and lost, % attendance, etc.
The way things were made before, they kept track of everything in paper and old school, and since tech is here to help and to make things easier, we thought that maybe using a DB would help us in making it easier and automated defining the main structure, and the interconnections with each item.
I use Asus Tablet for making most of my stuff outside the office and my home, so in the fee time my wife made a research for me of the best DB apps in Android and we decided to use MobiDB.
It’s very friendly, I can visually create what I need and basically without any previous knowledge in DB.
Your experience with the app
I have used around 9 tables so I can keep track of attendance, games won and lost and points made and received for every team.
Each team has a number of members that should be related to the team name and also to the game sheet.
Printing and PDF export are very necessary so I can show the results by the end of the tournament.
Solution/results
We managed to use the app and made the statistical office quite efficient, going from a three week hard hours to every Sunday half an hour capture.
Benefits
Nowadays, we can offer almost instant position sheet, attendance average and similar reports as needed by the teams.
