Why Rename PerpetuumSoft Products

Probably you, dear visitors of our website, already know that from the middle of September, 2011 we totally rebrand our products. Most likely, you will ask, “Why did you spend so much time to re-name your products?”

I will try to answer this question. First of all, this is not just renaming, this is collecting most of our products under a single strong brand. Why? Because these products are so closely integrated that they can be joined in one line. I thinks it’s not a secret that quite a big part of functionality including licensing, export and other low level parts are common for all products (except for SharpShooter Diagrams that stays apart from the line).

Web Viewer for Report Sharp-Shooter on IPad

In spite of experience and age our developers have preserved youthful ardor when it comes to project testing. The first thing they do when they finishes any product – playing with it.

So far as they are not children, they choose advanced IT toys. That’s why when Web Viewer for Report Sharp-Shooter was finished; they wanted to try it on IPad.

In order to use MS Charts in Report Sharp-Shooter, the project should be built on.NET 4.0.

Introduction

The purpose of this article is to demonstrate how a developer can create a Silverlight application with the ability to display SQL Server Reporting Services reports and export them to 20+ different formats, providing additional features and experience to application users.

To help us solve the task, we use Silverlight Viewer for Reporting Services by Perpetuum Software, a software component allowing display SSRS reports in a Silverlight application and SSRS Rendering Extensions by Aspose, a set of rendering extensions allowing export SSRS reports to various formats, including DOC, DOCX, RTF, Excel 2003/2007, PPT, PPTX, FLV, SWF, etc.
